What does your work add up to?

Doing good work is one thing. Talking about it is often harder.

It gets easier when you understand what it all adds up to. There’s a thread connecting what we’ve done in our lives and careers that tells us about what we bring to our work. It goes beyond a resume or bio and it isn’t tied to a particular job or title. A Professional Narrative follows that thread, drawing on the stories and experiences that have shaped your work.

I speak about Professional Narrative and what we learn when we really see what our work adds up to.

Going Beyond the Bio. What gets missed when we reduce a working life to job titles, qualifications and achievements? What can we learn by stepping back from the resume and seeing the thread running through our work and experience?

Making Your Expertise Easier to Recognise. Doing good work doesn’t necessarily mean being seen for what you’re good at. This talk looks at why expertise can be under-signalled and what we can do about it.

From Worthwhile Work to Support. For organisations doing complex or purpose-led work. Why facts alone rarely explain why something matters, and how a clearer narrative can help worthwhile work become easier to understand and support.

I’m available for talks, presentations, panel discussions and facilitated sessions. Talks can be adapted to suit different audiences and settings.
